Celebrating humanity through creativity and connection

History

Blue Sage Coffee House began in the early 2000's as a program of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Lubbock to raise money for local charities. Performances by  Chuck Pyle, Cheryl Wheeler, Trout Fishing in America among others, delighted audiences who gathered to support some great causes.

The program had been dormant for many years when in 2023 the program was revived with a performance by legendary folk singing duo Hungrytown. Since 2023 the Blue Sage Coffeehouse has put together several concerts featuring local and traveling musicians.  Blue Sage Coffee House serves as part of the action arm of the First Unitarian Universalist church, helping us to live our values and foster a beloved community.  All of the profit from the Blue Sage Coffee House concerts goes towards funding tuition for kids to attend U-U summer camp.

Vision

Blue Sage Coffee House aims to create a vibrant, inclusive space where humanity is celebrated in all it's forms.  We are a community where creativity bridges differences, art amplifies understanding, and music resonates with the shared experiences of diverse lives. In this space people connect deeply through the transformative power of storytelling and self-expression, fostering a sense of unity and belonging. Here, differences are embraced as strengths, and empathy grows naturally through the celebration of our collective and individual journeys.

Mission

Blue Sage Coffee House holds space for live performances that celebrate diverse stories, art forms, and musical traditions, inspiring connection and understanding across all walks of life."
